TODAY I'M FEELING HIGHLY PREVELIST TO DELIVER MY SOME WORDS IN FRONT OF ALL OF YOU IN THIS SPEECH CONTEST ON THE TOPIC "IMPACT OF FUEL SHORTAGE IN NEPAL" THAT WAS ORGANIZED BY OUR SCHOOL AS A EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES .
Friends, today we are in the crucial phase of socio-cultural, economic and political transformation. But in spite of further developing, we are being pushed backward and backward. Just five months after the great devastating earthquake, Nepal is entangled in yet another spell of turbulence. It has been more than 3 months since the fuel crisis and economic blockade started in Nepal. The promulgation of new constitution in late September, sparkled tensions between the madhesi ethnic groups and the government. The protest against the madhesi community on Indian boarder has restricted the flow of commodities and the fuel crisis is increasing day by day.
In the context of Nepal, Fuel crisis is the major burning issue. With the current fuel crisis, Nepal is running 1/10 of the total fuel consumption. The demand for petrol, diesel, cooking, medicines, other crucial materials is high however the consumption is low. Due to fuel crisis, many bad impacts have taken place in our country Nepal. The Black market of different goods, services, and commodities is taking place. Similarly, Smuggling of petrol, diesel and similar many other item is increasing which is really a great trouble or problem for us.
The increasement of fuel crisis has resulted in buying of many electrical equipment's just like rice cookers, microwaves, induction, which is causing a great problem for electricity. A power cut for 13 hours has added worsening plight to the residents and even the electric equipment's aren't reliable. Even those who are using firewood instead of electricity are randomly cutting down the trees which will once result in the great destruction of forests, destruction of habitat of living organisms, and imbalance in nature.
Due to fuel crisis, the small and large scale industries are being closed and the readymade items that used to be found in our market are lacking. Even those which are present now days costs more and aren't affordable by the local people.Because of crisis, hospitals have begun delaying or postponing services & equipment's, medicines, vaccines are lacking which may cause problem to one's health. Now, due to fuel crisis, Buses have begun cutting down services, only limited bushes are running & hospitals are no longer an option for many as they can't pay six times the normal fare.
The fuel crisis has added more load to Nepali both physically and mentally. Now we can't get gas cylinders, diesel, petrol and similar other materials easily and a huge time, hard work is consumed and it's only due to fuel crisis. Due to fuel crisis, People are compelled to sit hours and hours on the line of gas, petrol, diesel and it's really a great problem.
Not only these my friends, the country's main economic pillar, tourism is suffering. The tourists aren't getting proper shelter, care, protection and aren't able to freely as they like. The domestic & international airlines have reduced & the no of flights & hotels are offering only fixed menus. The tourists aren't visiting Nepal due to such problem which is causing a great loss of our economy.
Even the victims of earthquake who didn't got shelter are suffering too much. They are living a poor, helpless life without food, shelter or clothes. The economic blockade & fuel crisis towards Nepal is creating a great serve problem and if the problem isn't resolved on time, Nepal could face another crisis; not of items or materials but of human itself.
